Other destructive factors include tree sap, acids from leaf stains, bug spatter, tree sap, road tar, acidic bug splatter, chemical fallout and bird droppings. All of these can eat through the clear coat and cause permanent damage. A ceramic coating produces a protective shield for up to 7 years.
